4th of July Pan Car Shootout Event to be held Saturday July 9th
This year marks the second year of holding this special event for pan cars at R/C Sports Mania Raceway. With the increase in drivers for this year's event, it will absolutely hold a high end of competition for the NASCAR 6 Cell Stock class for oval racing at RCSM. The past six months the track has seen an increase in drivers for the pan car class, and with that the level of competition has hightened to levels not seen in some time at Arizona's only asphalt banked oval track. This brings to both all the pan car racers and spectators alike a high anticipation to a great event coming in a few weeks, and tougher competition for last year's champion Wes Fukushima to defend his title. In addition to the Champion's trophy, we have for our racers some awards for heat and lower main winners. Track fees stay the same for Saturday racing at R/C Sports Mania, and as well the race structure. Event Update: The event staff has concluded that this year the event will be combining two classes for the evening. In addition to the 6-cell class and the guidelines posted, we're also going to have a 4-cell class to increase the competition. We know there is a large following for 4-cell and want to have this event open to as many people interested in the NasCar stock class as possible to be eligible for the competition and the awards. Below we have posted the additional guidelines for 4-cell. Below are some following guidelines for the event:Event structure: two 4-min heats, one 5-min main event2 bump ups per lower main events. 6-cellBatteries: 3300 maxBody: stock car (NASCAR type)Motor: Rebuildable Stock 27t 4-cellBatteries: 3300 maxBody: stock car (NASCAR type)Motor: 19t locked timing And most of all we want to give a big thanks to this year's sponsors!
