The point series is presently run with several classes, all conducted with the same structure of 4 minute races. Each class is started off with two seperate heats for each race entry. This determines the starting order for the Main Events. At the beginning of the Main Events, everyone starts with 100 points. The final position of the racer at the end of the Main Event race determines what points they have at the end of the evening. Whatever a race entry finishes placing at, their placement is subtracted from the 100 points mark. For example, someoene who places in 4th place in the A-Main Event collects 97 points (first place gets 100 points, 2nd place recieves 99, 3rd recieves 98, and so on). Should there be a large amount of race entries for any given class, multiple heats and Main events will be held (i.e. A-main for top 9 racers, B-main for the next top 9 racers, and so on). In this scenario, another condition arises. For the race entry that wins the B-Main, they have the opportunity to bump up for the A-Main event, and possibly recieve more points with the R/C Sports Mania Point Series by placing higher in that Main Event. The racer's position at the start for the next Main event bump-up, will be in last place. This 'bump-up' condition is survived for all lower Main Events accordingly. And to last note on another way to recieve aditional points for the evening. The racer with the fastest TQ time in any of the heats of the said class (race entry that starts first spot in the A-main), they recieve an additional 1-point added to their score for the evening.
